Taxonomy
Globampyx sexsegmentatus was named by Fortey et al. (2024). Its type specimen is LACMIP 42370.8 (axial shield) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 42370, Badger Flat, Inyo Mountains, which is in a Blackhillsian deep-water shale/limestone in the Al Rose Formation of California.
