Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
C. W. Merriam 1974 (Sinospongophyllum)This ceratoid to subcylindrical Chonophyllidae has rather closely spaced, wide to very wide tabulae which are either straight or sag axially and peripherally. Septa are amplexoid, smooth or minutely wavy, noncarinate, and usually withdrawn from axis. Minor septa are well defined. Peripheral zone has septal crests, large irregularly distributed lonsdaleoid dissepiments, and smaller normal dissepiments. Septal stereozone is narrow to moderately wide. Fossula is weak or absent.
