Pseudocoeniopsis was named by Roniewicz (1976) [Sepkoski's age data: J Kimm-l K Turo Sepkoski's reference number: 868,1270]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Stylinidae by Roniewicz (1976), Morsch (1996); to Cyathophoridae by Turnsek (1997); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
