Taxonomy

Tubicora was named by Latham (1929) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo]. It is not extant. Its type is Tubicora aylmeri.

It was assigned to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dermosmiliidae by Kiessling (2008).

T. aylmeri (syn. T. somaliensis, Sagittastraea piveteaui) (type species)

Synonyms

Sagittastraea was named by Alloiteau and Tissier (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani Sepkoski's reference number: 86]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Tubicora by Baron-Szabo (2008).

It was assigned to Parasmiliidae by Alloiteau and Tissier (1958); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
