Taxonomy
Bracon was named by Fabricius (1805). It is extant. It is the type genus of Bracones, Braconidae, Braconini.
It was assigned to Braconidae by Scudder (1878), Scudder (1890), Theobald (1937) and Carpenter (1992); to Braconinae by Zhang (1989) and Belokobylskij (2014); and to Braconini by Quicke et al. (2024).
