Taxonomy
Syringopora thecostegita was named by Khayznikova (1989). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Sukhoy River, Sette Daban Mountains, unit 12, which is in a Llandovery reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Khandyg Formation of the Russian Federation.
