Siamopithecus eocaenus
Taxonomy
Siamopithecus eocaenus was named by Chaimanee et al. (1997). Its type specimen is DMR TF 3635, a maxilla (maxilla with right P3-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bang Mark pit (small lignite bed), which is in an Eocene terrestrial lignite in the Krabi Basin B2 Formation of Thailand. It is the type species of Siamopithecus.
