Anapliomera was named by Demott (1987) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l Sepkoski's reference number: 795].

It was corrected as Anapliomerella by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Encrinuridae by Sloan (1991); to Pliomeridae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
