Taxonomy
Paratesum rasnitsyni was named by Emeljanov and Shcherbakov (2009). Its type specimen is PIN 964/699, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Yantarnyi village (PIN collection 964), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Paratesum.
