Taxonomy
Tanymera fritschi was named by Alexander (1931). Its type specimen is Fritsch 59, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Judge Fritsch (Goldap) collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Tanymera.
