Metasthenurus newtonae

Taxonomy
Metasthenurus newtonae was named by Prideaux (2000). Its type specimen is SAM P17249 / P17250, a partial skull (partial adult cranium, and partially fused left and right dentaries), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Green Waterhole Cave, which is in a Pleistocene sinkhole horizon in Australia. It is the type species of Metasthenurus.
