Taxonomy
Phytocoris punctiger was named by Germar and Berendt (1856). Its type specimen is MfN Inv. 7301, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Jordanofulvius punctiger by Herczek and Popov (1999).
