Taxonomy
Oligopithecus rogeri was named by Gheerbrant et al. (1995). Its type specimen is TQ 313, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taqah, which is in an Oligocene coastal marl in the Ashawq Formation of Oman.
