Taxonomy
Jiayinosauropus johnsoni was named by Dong et al. (2003). Its type specimen is JDGP V.01 and is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Heilongjiang River tracksite, which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial horizon in the Yong'ancun Formation of China.
