Taxonomy

Phenopterum was named by Carpenter (1950). It is the type genus of Phenopteridae.

It was assigned to Phenopteridae by Carpenter (1992), Storozhenko (1997), Storozhenko (1998), Beckemeyer (2004); and to Sylvaphlebiidae by Aristov (2011).

P. briggsi, P. elongatum (syn. Lepium sellardsi, Lepium reticulatum)

Synonyms

Lepium was named by Sellards (1909). It is the type genus of Lepiidae.

It was replaced with Phenopterum by Carpenter (1950), Carpenter (1992), Storozhenko (1998).

It was assigned to Lepiidae by Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922).
