Taxonomy
Taihungshania was named by Sun (1931) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren O Llvi]. It is the type genus of Taihungshaniidae.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Taihungshaniidae by Jell and Adrain (2002) and Zhou and Zhou (2019).
