Taxonomy

Anthracomartidae was named by Haase (1890). Its type is Anthracomartus.

It was assigned to Anthracomarti by Haase (1890); to Anthracomarti by Guthörl (1934), Petrunkevitch (1945); and to Trigonotarbida by Dunlop and Rößler (2002), Selden and Pillola (2009), Wright and Selden (2011), Hyzny et al. (2013), Dunlop et al. (2013).

Coryphomartidae was named by Petrunkevitch (1945).

Pleomartidae was named by Petrunkevitch (1945). Its type is Pleomartus.

Eurymartus was named by Matthew (1895).

It was assigned to Eurymartidae by Matthew (1895).
Eurymartus latus was named by Matthew (1895). Its type specimen is NBMG 3003, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Fern Ledges, Plant bed 2, Carleton, Saint John, which is in a Westphalian A estuary/bay shale in the Lancaster Formation of Canada.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Dunlop et al. (2013).
