Discussion

Originally proposed by Russell to include genera conventionally assigned to Carpolestidae, in order to distinguish them from Saxonella, which he also referred to Carpolestidae (in the subfamily Saxonellinae)

Taxonomy
Carpolestinae was named by Russell (1964). It is the type subfamily of Carpolestidae. It was considered monophyletic by Beard and Wang (1995).

It was assigned to Carpolestidae by Beard and Wang (1995).
