Taxonomy
Myriophyllia was named by D'Orbigny (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-l K Albi Sepkoski's reference number: 806]. Its type is Meandrina rastellina.

It was assigned to Faviidae by Roniewicz (1976); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eugyridae by Baron-Szabo (2021).
