Ampakabastraea cowichanensis

Taxonomy
Isastrea cowichanensis was named by Clapp and Shimer (1911). It is not extant. Its type locality is GSC 13703, Cowichan Lake, Vancouver Island, which is in a Rhaetian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Sutton Formation of Canada.

It was recombined as Confusastrea cowichanensis by Smith (1927); it was recombined as Guembelastraea cowichanensis by Montanaro-Gallitelli (1979); it was recombined as Kuhnastraea cowichanensis by Stanley, jr and Whalen (1989), Stanley (1994), Caruthers and Stanley (2008); it was recombined as Ampakabastraea cowichanensis by Roniewicz and Stanley (2013).
