Glasbius was named by Clemens (1966). It is not extant. Its type is Glasbius intricatus.
It was assigned to Glasbiinae by Clemens (1979); to Marsupialia by Goin et al. (2006); to Glasbiidae by Clemens (1966), McKenna and Bell (1997), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004), Davis (2007) and Beck et al. (2008); to Polydolopimorphia by Goin et al. (2009); and to Metatheria by Williamson et al. (2012).
