Type specimen: IVPP V 1050, a partial skeleton (anterior portion of carapace and a broken skull). Its type locality is Niushan (Amyda linchuensis type locality), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Niushan Formation of China.

Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Niushan (Amyda linchuensis type locality)
