Z. Kielan-Jaworowska and J. H. Hurum 1997 (Djadochtatheria) | A clade of multituberculates with skull length varying between 20 and
70 mm, dental formula 2 0 3-4 2 1 1 0 2 2, unicuspid I2 and double-rooted upper premolars. Djadochtatherians are characterized by the following synapomorphies: large frontals, pointed anteriorly in the middle, deeply inserted between the nasals; U-shaped fronto-parietal suture; a sharp edge between the lateral and palatal walls of premaxilla (rounded in other multituberculates). A large roughly rectangular facial surface of the lacrimal, exposed on the cranial roof, separating the frontal from the maxilla is also characteristic for Djadochtatheria, but this may be a plesiomorphy |
