Taxonomy
Stromaporidium lamellatum was named by Stanley (1994). Its type specimen is UMIP 20631B and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sierra del Alamo, Antimonio Formation, Section 2, which is in a Norian open shallow subtidal limestone/sandstone in the Antimonio Formation of Mexico.
